Tips for Being a Smart Seller
If you are considering selling your home in 2014, here are a few tips that will make you a smart seller:
First, be aware that home buyer’s today often begin their search online. They are looking for high resolution photos and lots of them. Take this opportunity to clean and de-clutter your home prior to the photo shoot and boost your chances of a favorable first impression. Open the blinds and bring the light in to highlight your property’s best features. Remember, in today’s market you are competing with other Seller’s for a limited amount of Buyers.
Secondly, consider having your home inspected by a licensed home inspector before listing with a Realtor. Don’t wait until you have an offer to learn of any issues, large or small, that need to be repaired. Take this opportunity to get your home in top condition – you’ll be glad you did. The fewer reasons a Buyer might re-consider their offer, the more smooth your transaction will be.
Thirdly, offer a home warranty. A home warranty gives Buyers piece of mind and confidence they are making a smart purchase. Your Realtor can make arrangements to either put a home warranty in place now, or complete the application at closing.
